A panoramic view inside my little art studio in the Bay Area

About me…

My paintings delve into the depths of both inner and external landscapes, blending elements of reality with psychological undertones and boundless imagination for viewers to interpret and experience. Through a combination of color, texture, technique, and layers, these artworks tell their own stories, unveiling vulnerability and growth within my creative realm. Ultimately, they seek to find a harmonious balance between our internal and external worlds. My art reflects the current state of heart, mind, body, and soul, encouraging viewers to take risks and confront challenges faced in everyday life. Painting is my love language and feeds the soul; one stroke at a time. Thanks for taking the time to view my portfolio. All artworks are for sale!

I have been creating art in all mediums my entire life. The last 20 years have been dedicated to oil painting, creative collaboration, and teaching art to all ages. I was born in Washington, D.C. and attended the Corcoran School of Art in high school before an extensive Fine Arts Foundation program at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a residency abroad in France. I then moved to San Francisco and attended the Academy of Art University; graduating with a BFA in Production Design for Multimedia. I worked in the art department on multiple productions between San Francisco and Los Angeles ; from films and commercials to live events and theatre. I have always loved collaborating and making experiences memorable.

I sought exploration outside the US in my 20s and lived in Italy. Immersing myself in a completely different culture, I quickly learned the language and continued to communicate visually; focusing exclusively on oil painting and exhibiting internationally. It’s hard not to be influenced by what’s around you, and I went with the flow of Italian fashion and design trends. My art, however came from the heart and my personal experience. It blended those influences with a narrative; a key element in all of my artworks.

My next creation? A family. I returned to California to raise a little wolf pack and dive deeper into creativity. Not only did I focus on my art skills, but I guided my children on their own creative journeys. We painted murals in tempera every Saturday and made sure to use all the paint AND clean up! Soon, I was Miss Chelsea and taught art to children of all ages.

With a strong background in color theory, I strive to achieve color alchemy; whether painting a composition on a 2D surface or designing an immersive 3D user experience on multiple platforms. I seek harmony between our internal and external worlds. As a creative empath, I can visualize multiple perspectives.

I came back to the one place I have ever truly called home: The Bay Area in 2022. Emerging in a community of creatives post pandemic purgatory, I realized the importance of collaboration. Creating is a process that should be enjoyed by many. It’s wonderful to have skills in all art forms, but I wanted to learn more about the direction we’re all moving in, and it’s digital. Hopping aboard this wave and experiencing it full on keeps me connected to my children as they grow in a digital age. My art career is pivoting in the direction of UX Design, and I’m currently attending a certificate program through Coursera/Google. Finally I have found an industry in which my creativity, skills, and experience can all be put towards projects that can benefit many. Had this been a degree option back in my day, I 100% would have gone for it!

As an aspiring UX Designer, I’m thrilled to collaborate, ideate, and create. As an Artist, I’m excited to utilize my skills and creative imagination to contribute to revolutionary projects and help shape how we communicate visually. As a Mom, I feel stronger being connected to my children as we experience life across generations through a digital universe.
